"August: 6th: Thomas son of Thomas Hurrell Rector of this p[ar]ish & Elizabeth his wife" - under headings 'Baptisms:' and '1690'
(underlinging looks like it might have been done at a later date, possibly after this Thomas himself was Rector)
    Gender Male
Education From 22 Mar 1707/08 to 1711  Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location  [1
    • "Hurrell, Thomas, s[on of]. Tho. (4to.), of Beer Ferrers Devon, cler. Exeter Coll., matric[ulated]. 22 March, 1707-8, aged 17; B.A. 1711, M.A. 1718; rector of Beer Ferrers 1721-43, and of East Allington, Devon, 1730, vicar of Alternon, Cornwall, 1733; died 2 June, 1743. See Foster's Index Eccl. [20]"

(see below re error in this description; however, I do think that the education was of this Thomas, it fits evidence from other sources, and the age of the one who was rector of East Allington means it can't possibly have been him)
Occupation From 20 Sep 1714 to 10 Mar 1720/21  Beerferris, Devon, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location

    Rector
Occupation From 1733 to 2 Jun 1743  Altarnun, Cornwall, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    Vicar
    • It may be inappropriate to show this appointment as an occupation, because I am not sure if Thomas ever worked as Vicar. A few months after Thomas was instituted a curate was appointed and I suspect it was he who did the work in Alternon parish, whilst Thomas lived and worked in Bere Ferris. (The 2 parishes are about 25 miles apart and even today it takes about 45 minutes to travel from one to the other by car; Thomas would have probably have travelled by horse and the journey would have been too long to do regularly).
(I have not studied the PRs in either parish to try to determine who was doing what)
Evidence of appointment: CCEd website; also, death record (on institution of successor).
I do think it was probably this Thomas who was appointed, due to the year of death matching.
