    • List on the Launceston then! website shows 'Francis Glanville' as Mayor for the year 1667-8, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. There was a change of mayor each year in the borough at this time, but with the same names performing the office again a few years later. Francis performed the duty again in 1675-6, the last time a Glanville was Mayor of Launceston.

The Cornwall Record Office site, in the catalogue entry for a document re Launceston Borough, ref. BLAUS/480, includes:
"The Reverend John Ruddle, receipt from Francis Glanvill, mayor, for £14 10 shillings, a quarter's salary due 29 September last. 7 Oct 1668".

    Father Oliver GLANVILLE,   b. Est 1589,   d. Between 18 Jan 1640/41 and 29 Nov 1641  (Age ~ 52 years)
    Mother Elizabeth BROOKING,   d. 1658
    Married Est 1615
    • Potentially confusing, an Oliver of Camborne was having children around the same time, including several with the same names. I did think maybe this Oliver had lived there for a while, but the offspring with the same names seem to have married in Camborne, so it seems clear it was a different family. Hopefully the large distance between Camborne and Launceston will mean the two aren't confused.

Wife named as Elizabeth in his will.
