- His father settled the manor on his (George's) mother in 1550, directing by his will (written 15 July 1567) that his son George should not be disturbed in his quiet possession of the manor for seventy years after the deaths of himself and his wife Mary, if the said George should live so long. Actually, George's mother outlived him.
Date assuming he died 1590 (though it may have been about 1595). However, whilst this suggest he would have lived here until his death, the grant of admon for him describes him as 'of Worminster'.
Grant of Administration 3 Jun 1590 To his mother - To his mother, Mary Stourton. (from appendix to The Visitation of Dorset, 1623)
Crisp gives the information in his abstract of Somerset wills (vol. 2) but shows the year as 1595. He also shows that George was of 'Wormister, Somerset' and that his son William as well as his mother were granted admon.
