Gender Male Will 12 Oct 1464 - Vivian shows the date as 12 Oct 1464, I am not clear if this is when written or proved.
This will was probably one of those lost in the bombing of Exeter in 1942; I am not aware of any transcript or even abstract. It is mentioned by his wife Margaret in a Chancery Court case.
Vivian mentions that the will names Richard's father. He only shows two sons, William (son and heir) and Richard (second son), suggesting that no other children were mentioned in the will.
Died Abt 1465 - Based on date of will, as shown by Vivian and on IPM not mentioned by Vivian but which being for a Richard Strode of Devon in the regnal year 6 Edward IV (1466-7) would seem to be the same Richard.
Vivian also indicates there is an MI in Plympton St Mary Church, but does not give details; I have seen the monument but did not notice an inscription (I wasn't looking - it was before I knew of a link to the family).
A Chancery Court case dated between between 1460-65 indicates he died before it.

Margaret, daughter of Henry Fortescue of Wood, named as wife of Richard Strowde of Newnham in Vivian's Devon Visitaions, but source for this not known. That Richard's wife at the time of his death was 'Margaret' shown by Chancery Court case after his death (C 1/28/269 - TNA catalogue entry; image of bill).
