(In the abstracts etc. made by Miss Moger, but with a note at the base "Typed from a copy, presented by Mrs. Kenneth Hele, A.D. 1936.". The admon. info. is followed by an abstract of the probate inventory, I am guessing that the note applied to both but it may just refer to the inventory.)
Died Abt 1632 - The DWP gives a no. of references I will be following up to the will / admon. / dispute re a will of Elizabeth(s) with dates 1626 and 1632. I'm not certain till I see them whether this is one or two Elizabeths.
I think probably two; if so it appears it was this Elizabeth who died in 1632 since the DWP includes a reference to her son Sampson.

(In the abstracts etc. made by Miss Moger, but with a note at the base "Typed from a copy, presented by Mrs. Kenneth Hele, A.D. 1936." I imagine that the 'copy' was a copy of the full inventory, and what Miss Moger typed was her abstract, but I am not certain.)

Father William STRODE, b. 1512, d. 5 May 1579 (Age 67 years) Mother Elizabeth COURTENAY, b. Bef 1515, d. Yes, date unknown Married - That William Strode of Newnham married Elizabeth, daughter of Phillip Courtney of Molland, was recorded in the 1620 visitation (Strowde pedigree). Unfortunately which Philip was not shown, and the information was not on the Courtenay pedigree. Vivian shows Philip, the son of Sir Philip and Elizabeth, widow of William Hindeston, as the one who married Joane and was father of this Elizabeth, but Pole shows it as another Philip, the son of William, brother of the Philip Vivian suggests. I don't know any dates well enough to rule either out, or even suggest which is most likely.
Both Vivian and Pole consider that Elizabeth's mother was Jone (or Jane) Fowell, daughter of Richard Fowell of Fowelscombe, although the Fowell pedigree in 1620 did not include her.
