The following on the National Archives 'Discovery' catalogue shows a definite link between Courts in Kirdford and Chiddingfold: "Kirdford: Settlement certificate: John COURTE  Par/116/32/1/27 18 Feb 1750 These documents are held at West Sussex Record Office Contents: Subject: John COURTE; Chiddingfold, Surrey.
