Although of Wimbish at the time of his marriage, there were no Swan(n)s of any Christian name baptised in Wimbish between 1710 and 1740, and only one marriage (a Mary, in 1725) (from index on FamilySearch, 16 Jan 2016). Hence it seems that Thomas was born elsewhere. Altough in Essex Wimbish is close to Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire, as well as within 30 miles of Huntingdonshire (now Cambridgeshire) and Bedfordshire. Looking for Thomas Swan(s)s born in Essex, Cambs, Suffolk or Herts, born 1710-1740, * just in those parishes on FreeReg or FamilySearch * (as at 16 Jan 2016) only finds a likely born in Hildersham, Cambridgeshire. Hildersham is c. 11 miles from Wimbish. A Thomas Swan, son of Thomas and Jane, was bap 17 Feb 1728 but he probably died as they had another son Thomas  bap 2 Aug 1731. (There were other baps from the 4 counties search but nowhere close to Wimbish)
