    • GRO ref: Hibberd, Alfred to SIMONS, Clara Louisa q1 1890 Wandsworth RD 1d 616
Details from PR entry (image on Ancestry, viewed 11 Mar 2016)
Alfred Hibberd, 26, Bachelor, Merchants Clerk, resident at 31 Mantua Street, father James Hibberd, Warehouseman married
Clara Louisa Simons, 23, Spinster, no occupation given, also resident at 31 Mantua Street, father Alfred Simons, Carpenter
Married after Banns by Ed A(?) Cartwright
Both signed, witnesses James Hibberd and Ada Simons (both also signed)The 1911 census shows that Alfred and Clara had had 10 children, 4 of whom had died by then. Eleven infants were born and died in Wandsworth Reg District between 1891 and 1911, but only two had the mother's maiden of Simons; no evidence of the other two. Perhaps they were still born, as their births would not then have been registered.
