I guess that it was this John that subsequently moved to Crediton, but the date of matriculation of William comes between the dates of 2 recorded as sons of John of Crediton. Same college as the other 2 adds weight to my theory they were sons of the same John, as does the surname being rare and from Somerset not Devon. Also, Sarah, John's wife and mother at least of John junior, was from near Plympton and had relations in Plympton, it seems more likely she would marry someone living there than in Crediton.
