    Notes
    • (Research):Another John, son of John of Picknaller in Somerset, gent, matriculated at Balliol College in 1672, aged 18. I doubt he would have matriculated in time to be appointed curate in 1674, hence the other one I show here.

Alumni oxonienses suggests the John I show as curate of Plympton St Mary may have been rector of Ashwater, 1691 and vicar of Fremington, 1695. In Ashwater the John Sweeting there was followed by a Samuel Strode. He cannot be a brother of Francis and John's wife Sarah, since he was the son of an Exeter gent also called Samuel, but could have been related to them, hence following John in Ashwater.
