Agnes Ann COURT

-
Name Agnes Ann COURT Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born 22 Dec 1876 - Date from family Bible; the birth appears not to have been registered
Court Family Bible
Records both Agnes's birth and deathBaptised 9 Jan 1877 Parish of St. Sepulchres, London, England - PR shows the baptism to have been in the Parish of St Sepulchre in the City of London and gives dob as 23 Dec 1876, dau of George and Mary Court, abode Brentford, father's occ gardener; by Thomas Pugh, curate.
I suspect the small pox hospital in which she died was in the parish of St. Sepulchre - hence her burial being there rather than Brentford.
Gender Female Died 18 Jan 1877 Small Pox Hospital, Upper Holloway, London, England Cause: Small Pox - Date from family Bible.
GRO ref: COURT Agnes Ann q1 1877 aged 0 Islington RD 1b 161
I obtained a copy of her death certificate as I was interested to see why she was baptised and died away from the family home, which at that time was in Brentford (as the baptism confirms). The cause, as can be seen, was small pox: she was in a specialized small pox hospital.
The death certificate shows the cause of death as 'Confluent Small Pox 9 days unmodified'. 'Unmodified', means the disease was not modified by innoculation.
