Jane LYLGRAND
Set As Default Person -
Name Jane LYLGRAND Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Gender Female Also known as Jane Le GRAND Died Yes, date unknown
Siblings1 brother Patriarch & Matriarch
LYLGRAND, d. Yes, date unknown (Father)
Notes - (Research):The surname Lylgrand for Jane's brother seems quite clear in her husband's will (register copy), but I can't find any evidence of there being such a surname! My guess is that it is a phonetic variant of the surname Le Grand, which did exist in East Kent at around this time.
Most references are from the latter half of the C17th on, suggesting the bearers may have arrived as Huguenot refugees, but the earliest will in the East Kent wills index is of a Michael of Canterbury, written in 1639, so some clearly arrived a little earlier. (His will is in French as well as English)
