John HALKE
Set As Default Person -
Name John HALKE Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1490 - I guess John was older than William, since his son seems to be listed first in terms of bequests in Richard's will (although I don't know what had been passed on in Richard's lifetime). My estimate is based on my estimated dob of William, assuming John was older.
Gender Male Died 1519 Will 3 Jun 1519 - John's will shows that his father, named as Richard, was still living when he wrote it.
Only the register copy seems to survive, which I have seen and transcribed (PRC 17/14/94b)

Father Richard HALKE, b. Est 1462, bur. 19 Oct 1546, Ss. Gregory and Martin’s Church, Wye, Kent, England
(Age ~ 84 years) Mother [ - ? - ], d. Bef 1546 Married - I know that Richard had a son William (from later docs referring to William's father as a Richard), but the other children of Richard shown here depend on this being the Richard who died in 1547. If I am wrong and it was Richard the son of Sampson (d. 1488) who died in 1547 then the other children go with him.

Family Johan, d. Aft 1519 Married - In his will John only mentions his wife and father, no son, but I am guessing that he had a son Richard, maybe not born or the pregnancy even evident, when he wrote his will. The Richard who died in 1547 left a bequest to his godson Richard, son of John, but nothing to John - I think most likely because John had died. With this John naming his father as Richard he fits here neatly, if he did have a son.
