Occupation Architect - Pickering family lore has it that Eric was involved in some way with the design of the Winnipeg parliament building and they were in Canada by 1915.
Assuming the above is true, then Eric was presumably the Inman in the firm of "Inman & Skelton" that joined with Henry Boddington<.a> (who with Frank L.W. Simon had won the competition to design the Manitoba Parliament Building) to form the practice Boddington, Inman & Skelton, who were the executant architects for the parliament building (now called the Manitoba Legislative Building). Notes - Eric and Mabel emigrated to Winnipeg, Canada c. 1914 soon after Eric qualified as an architect. They were already in Canada when Mabel's brother Harold married in 1915.
From Winnipeg they went to Santa Monica USA and on their return to UK settled in Devon as it reminded them of Santa Monica.
Believed to have returned to the UK in about 1925.
