John RAXSTRAW
Set As Default Person -
Name John RAXSTRAW Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Gender Male Buried 4 Feb 1850 St. Peter’s Church, Stoke Fleming, Devon, England
- From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 25 Apr 2015)
"John Rakestraw No. 581., abode: Dartmouth, Feby 4th, age: 65, ceremony performed by: Ar Farwell Rector" - under heading 'Burials ... Stokefleming ... 1849-50' (in 1850 part)But is this the burial of Charlotte's father? It seems likely, since he was, like her mother, of Dartmouth but buried Stoke Fleming. Both Charlotte's parents appear to have come from Brixham, and introduced the surname to Dartmouth - so I am sure the John buried in 1850 must be related. But if the age is right he can't be the father of Charlotte and her sisters. Whilst a couple could have a family with births c. 1785 - 1805, Sally was not old enough to have had such a family, if her age is right!
Most likely there is an error in the burial register in the age of John.

(Age ~ 83 years) Married - I am not really researching the Rickstraw / Rexstrow / Raxstraw etc. family - just looked for link to Sally as her grave is amongst a group of my ancestors, and for Matilda and Melinda who witnessed the wedding of Samuel Trant to Charlotte.
