Father Richard HALKE,   b. Abt 1562,   bur. 31 Jan 1624/25, St. Mary the Virgin Church, Hastingleigh, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location  (Age ~ 63 years)

    Married Abt 1599
    • In Bill of Chancery case dated 1 Feb 1609 Richard Halke (the orator) refers to his marriage as being about ten years before, and to Alice, the daughter of Thomas Raynes. (C 2/JasI/H24/42)

Hastingleigh website shows Alice as a PEMBLE, I don't know where this is from, but it seems to be incorrect.

When he died Richard's wife was Alice, but he may have been married more than once and she need not have been mother of all (or any) of his children

Family John PEMBLE,   d. Yes, date unknown
Married 14 Jan 1633/34  St. Mary the Virgin Church, Hastingleigh, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • From AT data transcribed on the Hastingleigh website.
Alice was shown as of Hastingleigh, John as of Sellinge.
I need to see the actual entry - the entry seems to have been included on the above website twice (for 4 and 14th) and more importantly year is not clear - the site usually shows OS year but the entries are in order and this one appears as Jan 1634 before Nov 1634.
      Tyler's notebook shows 14 Jan 1633/4.

The entry would seem to be for this Alice not her mother, as when her sister Amy married the following year her mother was still recorded as Alice Halke widow on the marriage licence.
