with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1619 - From marriage licence where shown as aged 18; also, her mother's gravestone shows she left 4 children, the oldest 'not above 6'. Son John was listed first, presumably because male; his baptism shows he was not baptised (and so almost certainly born) 1623/4. Of the daughters Elizabeth was listed first, i.e. probably the oldest.
Gender Female Guardian From 1631 to 1638 Sir John Honywood - With her parents dead Elizabeth Taylor was under the guardianship of Sir John Honywood (from marriage licence).
A genealogy of the Taylors of Pennington shows that Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas of Willsborough, lord of the manor of Shadochurst, who died in 1631, and his first wife, Catharine, died 1625, the daughter of Sir Thomas Honeywood, knight, of Elmstead. I am guessing she came under the guardianship of Sir John on her father's death.

Burke's publications are notorious for their inaccuracies, and I am not researching Elizabeth's family so can't confirm this and anyone interested in this family is advised to do their own research to confirm the above, but it does suggest why Sir John Honywood was her guardian.
The Honywood tree in 'The Topographer and Genealogist', vol. II, p.191, Nichols, 1853 (view online) shows that Elizabeth's mother had a brother, Sir John Honywood. Sir John was having children baptised in Elmsted around the time Elizabeth and her siblings were born, so they were coming into a family with cousins of her own age.

Died Yes, date unknown Buried - Only burial found so far by looking at FMP index (as at 17 Dec 2015) that could be hers was on 14 May 1709 in Tenterden. However, her burial could well not be indexed (or mis-indexed) and this burial is most likely a different Elizabeth Ower.

Notes - (Research):A lineage for Elizabeth's Taylor ancestry was published in Burke's Landed Gentry in 1838.
(People 'researched' their genealogy and submitted it to Burke for pulication; just as there are now many errors in the trees on FamilySearch, Ancestry etc. so there are in Burke's, so anyone interested in this line should check it out and not assume Pringle Taylor was correct. This is especially the case given that most people seem to have been more interested in proving their ancestry were gentry than in learning about their family's history).

When Elizabeth remarried it was to a first cousin of her first husband, their mother's being sisters.
Not only was Elizabeth widowed in 1642, her mother-in-law's sister was married to an Ower, which may be how she met Edward, both suggesting it was this Elizabeth, but there was a Chancery Court case concerning the marriage settlement of this Elizabeth in 1657 and the plainttiff was one Edward Honywood. It seems too much to be coincidence. (This Elizabeth appears to have had an uncle Edward Honywood, her mother's brother, also a cousin with the name, son of her uncle Sir John Honywood - tree in online book)
