Set As Default Person -
Name George Pepperell PARTRIDGE Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Jun Q 1845 Kingsbridge Reg Dist, Devon, England

Baptised 29 Jun 1845 St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Stokenham, Devon, England

Gender Male Residence From 1851 to 1861 Bickerton, Stokenham, Devon, England
- With his Pepperell grandfather, an aunt and 2 uncles rather than his parents at the time of the census. His parents were not far away, though; just 1 uninhabited house is listed between them and his grandfather's house in the census.
He was still not with his parents, but with his grandfather having died with his aunt and unmarried uncle George at the time of the 1861 census.
Occupation From 1861 to 1881 Fisherman Residence From 1877 to 1881 Bickerton, Stokenham, Devon, England
- At the time he married; shown as living in Bickerton at the time of the 1881 census.
Residence 1881 Hallsands, Stokenham, Devon, England
- abode at the time of his death
Died The Sea, (near), Start, Stokenham, Devon, England
Cause: Drowned - Six days before George's burial one William Steer had been buried in Stokenham. The circumstances were similar: both men were aged 36, lived in Hallsands and William Steer also drowned off the Start.
It seems too much to be co-incidence, although 6 days is a large gap for the burial of two people who had died at the same time. Maybe this reflects the bodies washing up at a different time. The sea had claimed another victim.
Buried 3 Aug 1881 St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Stokenham, Devon, England
- Burial register shows that George Pepperell PARTRIDGE 'drowned off the Start'
