    • There are only 2 Winch marriages recorded in St. Michael's Church, Sittingbourne (KFHS transcript, covering 1562 - 1836). One was of a John in 1785 - probably William's son or grandson, the other was a Daniel of Upchurch who got married in 1739. Daniel was a fairly unusual name so I don't think it can be a co-incidence that Wm's son John called his 3rd son Daniel - after he had named his 1st after himself, and his 2nd after his father. My guess is that Daniel was a brother of William's.

      Viewed Bapchild entries (also in Cant Cath archives, on 31 Jan 2005) - burials 1719 - 1742, marr 1721 - 1742: no Goathams or Winches. Bap 1762 back to early 1700s, mostly readable - no Goathams other than Michael

      The KFHS transcription (from 'original records' - I guess this means PRs rather than BTs) shows William WINCH? of Tonge married Susanna FOORD, otp, by Banns on 11 Feb 1734/5.
