  • Name Peter WINTER
    Relationshipwith Teresa Ann GOATHAM
Born Abt 1587  Stokenham, Devon, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • Date and place assumed from baptism.
I estimated 1590 based on date of marriage, the 1588 baptism below seems a likely date for a 1617 marriage.
Baptised 26 Mar 1588  St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Stokenham, Devon, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location

      Two possible burials:
      1. Peter of Chillington: bur 12 Nov 1642 Stokenham - probably this one, given that the family were of Chillington when he was baptised
      2. Peter of Fritscombe: bur 18 Oct 1646 Stokenham
Buried 12 Nov 1642  St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Stokenham, Devon, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location

    Notes
    • (Research):There were clearly 2 Peters havinga a family at around the same time. One was married to Catheren, this one to Honour.
One lived at Frittiscombe (rarely mentioned), the other at Chillington (in a number of entries). Sometimes one was referred to as 'the younger'. Which was that? I thought at first probably this Peter, he clearly married Honour and had children later than Peter and Catherine. But was Honour his 2nd wife?

A Peter was baptised, son of Thomas of Chillington, in 1588. Too young (in practice) to be the Peter who married Catherine in 1604, so that was probably this Peter. Which means he was probably the 'Peter of Chillington'.

    • I think I know of more children of this couple - but there were clearly two Peter's having children at the same (or overlapping) time and I have not  yet done enough to work out which I think were Peter and Honour's.
I think I am descended from the Peter married to Honour because of the use of the name Honour for a granddaughter, my ancestor.

      Thinking so far:
Peter who had children to at least 1624 was married to Cate / Cathren - they married in 1604, can't be the Peter bapt 1588 - that was probably this Peter. The Peter who was bapt 1588 was at that time of Chillington,
