    • This marriage could possibly be that of one of his 1st cousins who were bapt 1774 and 1788. The latter married in 1820 but could have been a widower.
      However, the only Walter Smith I have come across was the father of this James which does suggest it was probably the marriage of this James.

      (middle name could be 'Sted' but I think probably 'Hed' - H not like H in line above but that looks a different hand; is similarl to H in Henery on the next page; as an S not like that in a number of 'Son's)
