Apparently Robert and Augusta travelled with 2 young sons, Edward aged 3 and Thomas aged 1. Neither of these appear in the index of birth registrations - registering was not compulsory at this time so maybe Robert and Augusta did not bother. On the other hand the indexes do show an Augusta Jane born 1849. I thought she must have been named after her mother - but maybe the mother's name was accidentally put in the index instead of the baby's.
In Australia Robert had the freehold of Charles Paddock, William Street Windsor Division, St. Kilda, Colony of Victoria.
