    • There was a marriage of a Thomas Beacon to Martha Croft on 19 Nov 1786 at Bobbing (by banns) - was it this couple, Martha being a widow?
I'm now fairly sure it was. Martha's will shows her brother was a Roper, and a Martha Roper of Bredgar married William Craft (by licence) on 24 Oct 1773 of a William Craft to Martha Roper of Bredgar at Tunstall.
Both Thomas and Martha were buried at Bobbing so they clearly had a link with that village.
