This after the death of Thomas's wife, which occured in 1884, but John had emigrated to Canda before then so may not have received his inheritance.
* - his uncle simply refers to him as Thomas Efford Issell, so maybe he was known as Thomas rather than John - it would have avoided confusion with his father
