Name George ISSELL Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born 27 Dec 1841 Beesands, Stokenham, Devon, England - GRO ref: Issell, George, q1 1842 Kingsbridge RD, 9 391; GRO online index shows mother's maiden name as Kelland
Actual date as given at registration of death.
1901 census (Canadian) gives date of birth as 27 Dec 1848 but this is out of line with all others records, and George's age has been changed - presumably to fit with the dob, the age rather than the year having been assumed to have an error. There seems no obvious reason why George would have lied - his wife was born in 1840 so it wasn't to suggest his age was closer to hers.
Gender Male Education 1851 Dartmouth, Devon, England Scholar Occupation 1861 Higher Street, Dartmouth, Devon, England Cordwainer Residence From 1870 to 1920 Ontario, Canada - The registration of his death shows him as 50 years resident in Ontario.
Occupation From 1871 to 1891 Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada Shoemaker - At the time of the 1871, 1881 and 1891 censuses George was living with his uncle, George Kellond, also a shoemaker
