Married Abt 27 Oct 1670 St. Stephen’s Church, Lympne, Kent, England - The marriage info assumes the marriage proceeded as suggested by the licence (Dorothy's subsequent marriage shows it did take place)
A marriage licence was issued earlier in 1670 (June) for the marriage of Thomas Smithson, also recorded as yeoman of Lympne and a widower. While it's possible that it was a different Thomas (e.g. father or uncle) it seems to me most likely that it was the same Thomas.
Four months seems an unlikely time for a marriage, being widowed and arranging another marriage so I suspect the marriage permitted by the earlier licence did not for some reason proceed.
