    Notes
    • Is it a coincidence that Walter's 2nd wife had a surname that was common in Sheepstor where he held property? Given the tiny size of Sheepstor there weren't many names common there; I suspect it was not chance, and that Joan may have been from Sheepstor. Joan was probably born between 1610 and 1620 (could have been 1600-1626).

The Dartmoor Press transcripts include the marriage of a John Willcocke to Blanch Workinge in 1616, and a Walter Wilcocke to Johan Waye in 1619; either couple could have been Joan's parents (and there may have been others who could have been, who married elsewhere, or whose marriages are no longer legible)

After her husband's death Joan appears to have moved to Sheepstor with her 3 unmarried children, who all married in Sheepstor.
