Searching the FMP index on 21 Aug 2012, 1681+/-10 years, this is the only Mary Barter found. I don't know how complete the indexing is, plus Sheepstor isn't that far from Parishes not in the Plymouth and West Devon Collection, but Barter is clearly quite an uncommon name in the area, and with Walkhampton being a parish immediately adjacent to Sheepstor this Mary (i.e. the daughter of James) would seem very highly probable to be the right one.

A Wm Light and a Richard Light appear and marry in Buckland Monachorum in 1743 and 1744 - 2 of the sons of Wm and Mary? - it would seem quite likely.
(There were quite a few Leighes in Buckland in the C17th but a gap of a few years - it may be that Williams family were from Buckland Monachorum a generation of 2 back)
