In the Name of God Amen<\/b><\/span>
\nI Thomas Halke the Elder of Petham in the
\nCounty of Kent Yeoman being well in Body and of
\nsound Mind and Memory, Praised be God! considering
\nthe Incertainty of this Mortal Life do make and
\nordain this my Present Last Will and Testament
\nin manner following First I bequeath my Soul to
\nAlmighty God my Creator hoping to be saved by the
\nMerits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer And my Body
\nI commit to the Earth to be decently interred according
\nto the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named
\nItem I give to the poor of the Parish of Petham
\naforesaid the Sum of Five Pounds to be paid and
\ndistributed amongst them at the discretion of my
\nExecutor within Six Months next after my decease
\nItem I give and devise to my Grandson John Halke<\/a>
\nSon of John Halke my Late Son deced<\/u> All that my
\nMoiety or half part of all that Messuage or Farm
\ncalled Garlinge with the Lands Woodlands & Appurtences
\nsituate lying and being in Petham aforesaid at or near
\na certain place there called Garlinge Green and now
\nin my own Occupation and in the Occupation of John\n

\nNoble And also all that my Messuage or Tenement
\nwith the Buildings Garden Land and Appurtences
\nto the same belonging situate and being in Chilham
\nin the said County of Kent and now or late in the
\nOccupation of John Knock or his Assigns And
\nalso all that other Messuage or Tenement formerly
\ncalled the Chauntry House and now known by the
\nSign of the Chequer with the Garden Orchard and
\nAppurtences<\/u> to the same belonging situate and being
\nin Waltham in the County aforesaid And now or
\nlate in the Occupation of the Widow Pilcher or her
\nAssigns To have and to hold the said Moiety Messu=
\n=ages Lands Tenements and Premisses with the
\nAppurtences<\/u> unto my said Grandson John Halke
\nhis Heirs and Assigns forever Item I give to my
\nsaid Grandson John Halke the Sum of One Hundred
\nPounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be
\npaid by my Executor within One year next after
\nmy decease Item I give and devise to my Grandson
\nWilliam Halke<\/a> another Son of my said Son John
\nHalke All that my Messuage or Farm called
\nScarpes with all the Lands and Tenements to the
\nsame belonging with the Appurtence<\/u>s situate lying
\nand being in Lympninge and Elmsted or One of
\nthem in the said County of Kent and now or late
\nin the Tenure or Occupation of John Hobday his
\nLessees or Undertenants And also also all that my
\nMessuage or Tenement with the Buildings
\nGarden Orchard Lands Woodland and Appurtences
\nto the same belonging situate lying and being in
\nWaltham aforesaid and now or late in the Tenure
\nor Occupation of John Keeler his Lessees or Underte=
\n=nants To have and to hold the said Messuages Lands
\nTenements & Premisses last mentioned with the
\nAppurtence<\/u>s unto my said Grandson William Halke<\/p>\n

\nsaid Grandson William Halke the Sum of One
\nHundred Pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain
\nto be paid by my Executor within One Year next
\nafter my decease Item I give and bequeath to
\nmy Grandaughter Abigail Halke<\/a> Daughter of
\nmy said Son John Halke the Sum of One Hundred
\nPounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain to
\nbe paid her by my Executor at her Age of One
\nand Twenty Years or Day of Marriage which
\nshall first happen Item I give and bequeath to
\nmy Grandaughter Hester Halke<\/a> another Daugh=
\n=ter of my said Son John Halke the like Sum of
\nOne Hundred Pounds of like money to be paid by
\nmy Executor at her Age of One and Twenty Year
\nor Day of Marriage which shall first happen Item
\nAll other my Messuages Lands Tenements & Estate
\nwhatsoever both real and personal not hereinbefore
\ngiven and bequeathed I give and devise to my Son Tho==mas Halke<\/a> his Heirs Executors and Assigns forever
\nHe paying all my Just debts and Legacies according
\nto the true Intent and Meaning of this my Will
\nAnd I do make constitute and appoint my said
\nSon Thomas Halke full and sole Executor of this
\nmy Present Last Will contained in One Sheet
\nand this part of a Sheet of paper I have to each
\nsheet set my Hand and to the Top and Last Sheet
\nthereof set my Seal the Twenty Sixth day of
\nJune in the Eleventh year of the Reign of our
\nSovereign Lord George by the Grace of God of Great
\nBritain France and Ireland King Defender of
\nthe Faith &c. Annoq[ue] Dni 1725. Thomas Halke.

\nThomas Halke the Testator for and as his Last Will<\/p>\n

\nsubscribed our Names as Witnesses in the Presence
\nof the said Testator John Robinson John Keeling
\nJohn Sawkins. Whereas I the said Thomas Halke
\nin and by this my Will have given to my Grand=
\n=daughter Abigail Halke the Sum of One Hundred
\nPounds to be paid at her Age of One and Twenty
\nyears or Day of Marriage which should first happen
\nAnd whereas I have already given and advanced the
\nsaid Sum of One Hundred Pounds upon the
\nMarriage of the said Abigail with Nicholas
\nSwaine her now Husband Therefore I do hereby revoke
\nand make void the said Bequest and Legacy of One
\nHundred pounds, any thing in my said Will menconed
\nto the contrary notwithstanding Witnes my Hand
