{"id":2055,"date":"2014-08-11T11:23:51","date_gmt":"2014-08-11T10:23:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/teresa-goatham.me.uk\/genealogy\/?page_id=2055"},"modified":"2021-05-01T17:20:26","modified_gmt":"2021-05-01T16:20:26","slug":"aims","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/teresa-goatham.me.uk\/genealogy\/goatham-ons\/about-gotham-ons\/aims\/","title":{"rendered":"Aims of this study and website"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Aims<\/h2>\n<h3>The One-Name Study<\/h3>\n<p>The aims of this one-name study are:<\/p>\n<h4>Genealogy and Origins Aims<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>to identify as many Goathams, Gothams and those with variant spellings who have lived as possible;<\/li>\n<li>to assemble trees to show how these people are related;<\/li>\n<li>to have as few unlinked strays as possible!<\/li>\n<li>to see what these trees and other evidence suggest about the origins of the name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I hope to find out if \/ how the various groupings relate to each other, but to describe it as an aim may be an overstatement, since I suspect the information may not survive to permit this.
