I have tried to keep capitals and spelling as in the copy the transcription was made from (transcribed by my Mother – so that assumes I can read what she wrote correctly!)<\/p>\n

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Issell<\/a> of Stokenham church Town in the county of Devon cordwainer which I make and ordain in manner and form following<\/p>\n

First I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife<\/a> all my messuages and dwelling houses herberys orchards and premises with the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging and appertaining situate lying and being in Stokenham aforesaid together with all my household goods money and securities for money to hold the same all and singular unto my said wife for and during the term of her natural life and she continuing my widow but not otherwise.<\/p>\n

And from and after the death of my said wife and she continuing my Widow as aforesaid Then I give and bequeath all my aforesaid Messuages and dwelling houses herberys orchards and premises household goods money and securities for money goods chattels and effects unto and equally amongst my children John Issell<\/a> William Issell<\/a> Susan Pike<\/a> wife of John Pike Thomas Efford Issell<\/a> Robert Issell<\/a> share and share equal alike And I hereby order and direct the same to be sold and disposed of within twelve months next after the decease of my said wife and the money arising from such sale to be equally shared and divided  amongst them persuant to my Will and meaning above expressed<\/p>\n

Lastly I do hereby appoint my said sons John and Thomas to be joint Executors of this my Will hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me made<\/p>\n

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed and set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven<\/p>\n
