Abbreviated to <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;IPM&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;IPM is the abbreviation I use for inquisitions post mortem (can also be abbreviated to Inq.p.m.).&amp;lt;br \/&amp;gt;This was not a &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;post mortem&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; into the cause of a death, but an enquiry into who was the heir to land held direct from the crown.
