A bit expensive if you don’t live near London and can’t easily make good use of their library. Non-members can visit the library, and although there is a charge for non-members you’d have to a several times each year to make it worth belonging if the library is the main benefit for you.<\/p>\n

I did find it useful to be able to borrow some Devon PR<\/a> entries on microfilm but most of these are online now with newer, better quality images.<\/p>\n

Members do have access to an online database which is supposedly being added to but I haven’t found anything knew of interest to me there for sometime.<\/p>\n

I have seen some ‘professionals’ advertising and saying they belong to SOG<\/a>. I would avoid such individuals as they seem to be trying to con you – SOG<\/a> is not the body for professionals, that is AGRA<\/a>, and you can join SOG<\/a> the day you decide you are interested in genealogy and know nothing about what you are doing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
