Name Jane ("Jenny") Nickname Jenny Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1728 South Hams, Devon, England - Date estimated from date of baptisms of husband and first known child. Since a marriage has not been found in Stokenham for this couple it seems likely that Jane was from another parish.
Gender Female Died Oct 1785 Stokenham, Devon, England - (assumed from burial)
Buried 26 Oct 1785 St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Stokenham, Devon, England - Shown as a Pauper - as were 11 of the 23 on the page (burials in 1785 or 6).
Notes - Between 1749 and 1763 seven children were baptised in Stokenham, the offspring of one of more William Pikes. The spacing of the children was consistent with them being the offspring of one William with one exception: mostly they were baptised about 2.5 years apart. The exception was the 2 baptisms in 1752, one on 30 March and the other on 12 May. The May baptism shows mother's name as Elizabeth, quite different to the different-but-similar names of the mother for the other baptisms, suggesting there were 2 Williams. My tree reflects this assumption at present.
Mother's name.
1749: Joan
1752 (Mar) and 1758: Jane
1755, 1761 and 1763: Jenny
1752 (May): Elizabeth
Joan, Jane and Jenny seem similar enough to be the same person. Since these 3 names span the full time-period of the births, they can't be explained by William being widowered and remarrying.

Family William PIKE, b. Abt 1724, Stokenham, Devon, England , d. Abt 1768, Stokenham, Devon, England (Age ~ 44 years) Married - No Wm Pike marriages found in Stokenham, 1745 - 52.
Not the William Peeke who married Jane Bickham in Stoke Fleming on 10 Apr 1748 - though the names and date are a good fit, the Stoke Fleming PRs show that this couple had a number of children baptised in Stoke Fleming the same time 'my' William and Jane Pike were having their children baptised in Stokenham.
