    • Lodging with his aunt in Hanover Square in 1871 - not clear where he was working; but I suspect it was for his father's cousin, John Pike, who was a cordwainer in Lower Street.
      All subsequent census entries shows Thomas in Lower St. and 1911 census shows this is where he worked and also shows him as an employer. I suspect he took over the business after John Pike died in 1877.

    • Living in Lower St, Dartmouth (1881, 1890, 1901 & 1911 - in latter shown as 4 rooms). These 4 rooms must have included the cordwainer's business as Thomas is shown as working at home.
      1911: a widower, living with his dau Catherine and an unmarried sister-in-law Lucy James (Lucy, like Eliza, was born in Coleford).
      Lucy again present in 1921, although shown as a visitor. Thomas's daughter Catharine was also still present, and there was another visitor, 54 year old Alice Jenkins, like Thomas' late wife and sister-in-law born in Coleford. Address shown as 3 Lower Street in 1921.
