Name Edward SPRINGFIELD Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1707 Wormshill, Kent, England - (assumed from baptism)
Baptised 20 Apr 1707 St. Giles’ Church, Wormshill, Kent, England Gender Male church 1747 Wichling, Kent, England Churchwarden Occupation Yeoman - (according to his will)
Died Abt 1781 Lenham, Kent, England - Burial suggest Edward died in the first couple of days of 1781 or last few of 1780.
Will Says "Of Lenham"; will proved 1781, but written in 1776. I suspect Edward was still living in Lenham and died there, but he might have moved back to Wichling. If living in Lenham he might have been buried in Wichling to be in a family grave - a young daughter was buried there in 1744/45.
Buried 4 Jan 1781 St. Margaret’s Church, Wichling, Kent, England Siblings 1 sister Patriarch & Matriarch [Unknown] SPRINGFIELD, b. Abt 1645, d. Yes, date unknown (Grandfather)
Elizabeth MOORE, d. Oct 1741, Wichling, Kent, England (Mother)Notes - (Research):Where did Edward get his money from? Guess at least in part will have been inherited - from whom - Springfield or Moore (mother's) side? Or from his wife?
Can't find earlier Springfield wills in Canterbury Diocese. There is a Henry Moore of Lenham who left a will in 1728 / 30 - could be Edward's grandfather or gt grandfather?
Also, an Edward Springfield, shipwright / Master Boat Builder of Gillingham left a will in 1730 and a Henry Springfield, Master Boat Builder of Chatham left a will the same year. Any connection?
