I had assumed so until I found that in the censuses Ann's birthplace is given as Limehouse. I then thought that this could be explained by her father being a mariner, as seemed likely, and her mother going with him to London and giving birth while there.
Now although it seems that her father was a rope maker, he was apparently born in Middlesex and spent the latter part of his life in Stepney, so the family had links with the area, and I guess this explains Ann's birthplace.
I wondered if Ann was the mother of a Burtha Hyde baptised in Eastry in 1821 (presumably illegitimate, but the register doesn't say, not show "spinster" in the occupation column, simply just shows a mother's name), but there was another Ann Hyde baptised in Eastry in 1795 so it was more likely she who was the mother.
