Wills (transcripts) The will of Susan's grandfather, James Hambling
Susan was left £5 to be paid to her 2 years after her grandfather's death, i.e. in July 1839.
Susan was also left a quarter of her grandmother's "wearing apparel". Three other granddaughters of James were to receive the rest - and the drawing of lots would decide who got what! James died just 10 months after his wife; whether he hadn't got around to giving his wife's clothes due to this relatively short gap, or whether he could bring himself to deal with them one can only guess at.
