  Notes	On the same pages of the marr register is the marr of a George P Down (to Louisa Edwards). The 1871 census shows another George Down boarding with John and Esther and their son George. The boarder was aged 18, b Tavistock, unm, coal miner; no relationship given. 2 likely John Down's born Tavistock in the 1861 census: one aged 17, one aged 19, both unm, living with parents, both copper miners. (A job which could have been the cause of John's early death). I have not attempted to work out which is the right one.
