Although a Goatham by a non-paternity event, if his biological father was the man his mother subsequently married then he probably did have DNA, as soon after his birth his mother had married a Goatham! (I suspect, though, that Albert's natural father was not William George Whitehead, given there was over 3 years between his birth and his mother's marriage - but see notes below for other arguments for and against).

In 1939 Albert and his wife Rose had living with them children Rose, James, Roy and Dorothy. Dorothy was married and her husband was also present. As at 16 Dec 2016 one entry was closed, most likely either another child of Albert and Rose, or the eldest child of Dorothy and Kitchener, if born by the time of the register. There was also one Thomas Proudfoot, a dockyard labourer, born 1908 - possibly a lodger or boarder.
One other person was living in a separate household in the same house - Ellen Offen, a 52 year old cook house keeper (but incapacitated).
