    The will of Elizabeth's father, Thomas Becon
    Elizabeth was a beneficiary, being left £50, more than any of her siblings or half siblings, perhaps reflecting that she was not married and thus would not have received a dowry or other benefit from a marriage settlement, and she was living at home might also have contributed more to her father's care and happiness. While her eldest brother had married by this time, it is not evident that the other 2 had but they might have been aided by their father in setting themselves up in their careers.…
