Name Elizabeth Mary FOSS Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1835 Diptford, Devon, England - From the 1861 census where shown as aged 25, so if accurate born between 8 Apr 1835 and 7 Apr 1836.
There were two Elizabeth Mary FOSSs baptised in Diptford, one in Feb 1836, the other Feb 1837; they had different parents but both families were resident in Larkham. If the census age was accurate then this Elizabeth was the older one.
In addition this agrees with this Elizabeth's marriage, the PR entry for which names her father as Andrew. (Elizabeth baptised in 1837 had a father called Peter)

Family 1 Lionel EZEKIEL, bap. 14 Jun 1833, Higher Chapel (Independent), Buckfastleigh, Devon, England Married? Not married or evidence to suggest they didn't marry Notes - At the time of the 1891 census Elizabeth was living with Lionel, described as his sister. However, she appears not to have been sister, half-sister, sister-in-law or step-sister.
So were they trying to hide an unmarried relationship?
Lionel appears to have been a bachelor and as a widow Elizabeth could have remarried, so if they had been living as man and wife it is not clear why they wouldn't have married.
Maybe the reason was financial, perhaps Elizabeth would have lost her annuity if she had remarried.
Or maybe it was a platonic house sharing, but one which would have caused gossip in Victorian England, and so a relationship was pretended.

Family 2 William Harris BUSSELL, bap. 24 Jan 1826, St. Gregory the Great’s Church, Dawlish, Devon, England , d. 29 Jun 1861, Ashcombe, Devon, England (Age ~ 35 years) Married 18 Jun 1861 St. Nectan’s Church, Ashcombe, Devon, England - From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 18 Dec 2014)
Details to be added, but shows William Harris Bussell, of age, yeoman, father William Bussell, yeoman, marrige by licence.
This marriage was reported in the Western Times on 22 June 1861
"June 18, at Ashcombe, Mr. Wm. Bussell, of Ashcombe, yeoman, to Elizabeth Mary Foss, of the same place." (p.5, col. 5)
Possibly the briefest marriage in the Go(a)tham One-Name Study. Tragically, William was buried just a fortnight to the day after the marriage.
