Although name shown as Elizabeth in the 1841 census, the birth of an Eliza is the only one to fit. This Eliza seems to have died in 1845, which explains the absence in 1851. Since both records give her name as Eliza so am I, assuming the ennumerator 'formalised' the name in the census (or simply made a mistake).

A William fitting the one born to John and Hannah was with Mary at the time of the 1841 census, as well as other children born before his marriage to Mary, so it seems fairly safe to assume he had previously been married to Hannah, and the other earlier children were theirs.
