  • Name Lettice TAPLEY
    Relationshipwith Teresa Ann GOATHAM
    Born
    • Tapley was a common surname in Dawlish, and there were 2 couples with the husband's name William who could have been Lettice's parents: William and Wilmote, who married in 1685, and William and Lettice, who married in 1679.
Whilst the wife's name makes me think that this Lettice was most likely the daughter of William and Lettice this is not certain; the 2 Williams may well have been closely related, and this Lettice may have been a daughter of William and Wilmote, who chose the wife Lettice as godmother, and then named the daughter after her, as often seems to have been the practice.
