Jan: the 24th" The paucity of Hilles events in Herne, and the burial of a Mary Hilles daughter of William less than 4 weeks after this baptism suggest that the name was Mary, especially as William had only married in 1703 and was unlikely to have had an older daughter. (It is clearly not meant to be read as 'Mary' because the entry above was of a 'Mary', as there are a number of similar blanks on the page, including for sons following a Mary!)
