    • Although being in Blackawton makes this seem the most likely marriage of John and Mary, parents of the children shown, there was another marriage of a John and Mary in Halwell the previous year. It is clear from the registers there was a good bit of movement of people between Halwell and Blackawton, so it would be good to be able to rule the Halwell couple out, bu so far I haven't been able to. Burgoin was not a common name in that parish; there was a burial of a Mary there in 1767, but no other entries that could be the couple who married in 1703 or their parents.
