(Collins - when Amy was just 2 her father died and her mother remarried a couple of years later to one William COLLINS, which no doubt explains why she was also known by the surname Collins)
Surname as (middle*) forename Surname of her mother's friend(?), also Amy was her first name - Amy Macklin als. Mackeldon
    • In 1861 (before Amy's mother, Elizabeth, married) Amy Macklin was boarding with Elizabeth and her parents. When Amy died in 1873 Elizabeth was her executor. Clearly Amy was well known to Elizabeth but why Elizabeth would give Amy's surname to all of her children is not at present clear. (Amy's will to be seen - it may give a clue)
Also known as Amy Mackelden COLLINS
    Notes
    • Died as a Goatham, and described as a spinster in probate calendar entry, so Amy appears not to have married - but why did she go by the name Collins as well as Goatham?
Maybe to hide her identity after being in trouble with the law?
