A double marriage with that of Elizabeth's sister Sophia taking place at the same time.
Info from a notice in the "Whitstable Times and Herne Bay Herald" - Saturday 16 April 1870 (p.4, col. 5, under heading 'Marriages').
"Davinton - April 14, at Davington Church, Mr. Wm. Richmond, of Davington, to Miss Elizabeth Ann Goatham, of Faversham; also, at the same time and place, Mr. Thomas Inge, of Davington, to Miss Sophia Goatham, of Faversham."
The 1911 census shows that Elizabeth and William had had 7 children, and that 6 were then still living.
(While there was another Richmond baby buried in Norwood Cemetery in 1886, aged 9 mths, and this would fit a gap between Elizabeth and Wm's children, the 1911 census info and the child's abode show she was not the child of Eliz. and Wm)
