"1826 Jany. 1st. [Register entry] No. 239 Mary Daughter of William & Elizabeth Bailey, abode: Parish of Whitchurch, father's occupation: Thatcher, ceremony performed by P. Sleeman, Vicar"
Gender Female Residence 1850 The Parish Church, Stoke Damerel, Devon, England At the time of her marriage - I don't know if this is genuine or not. It is also given as her husband's address. A few months later, in the 1851 census, they were living in Bere Alston. Maybe Plymouth sounded fun and as young and unmarried people they had both found work there, or simply moved because that's where work was, but settled down in Bere Alston once married. But I suspect it may have just been a convenient address for the sake of a marriage in Plymouth.
If genuine, both being at the same address does not indicate they were already living as a couple. They were most likely boarders or lodgers, and may have met through living in the same house.
Residence 1851 Bedford Street, Bere Alston, Devon, England - WIth her husband, at the time of the census
Residence 1861 Lydford, Devon, England Residence 1881 Higher Ledgate Cottage, Lydford, Devon, England - With her husband, two sons (Francis and James) and a daughter (Bessie).

Abt 1805, Whitchurch, Devon, England , d. 4 Jan 1880, Whitchurch, Devon, England (Age ~ 75 years) Married 1 Apr 1825 Walkhampton Church, Walkhampton, Devon, England - From the DFHS index of PR entries: shows William Bealey mar Elizabeth Vogwill (I haven't yet seen actual entry)
Whitchurch is about 28 miles from Kingsteignton, and only about half a miles less from Teigngrace. So how did William from the Kingsteignton / Teigngrace area meet Elizabeth from the Whitchurch area?
William's older sister Jane had got married in 1816 to one Henry Vogwell; Henry was the uncle of William's bride so I guess it was through his sister Jane that William met Elizabeth.
But of course this then creates the question: how had Jane from the Kingsteignton / Teigngrace area met Henry from the Whitchurch area?

This shows that a spinster Mary Yole, father William Yole a labourer married Samuel Stanbury.
In the first census after the marriage, in 1861, Mary is shown as born in Bere Alston. None of this sounds like this Mary, yes, her name is correct for the time of the marriage, but she was a widow, born Whitchurch, her father William Bailey, a thatcher but often simply described as a labourer, so Christian name and occupation do fit.
Given her first husband was born in Bere Ferris, the parish which included Bere Alston, I thought this was probably a relation of his. However, looking at the children born to this marriage all were registered with the mother's maiden name as BAILEY, and in 1871 and 1881 her birthplace was given as Whitchurch.
She did live in Bere Alston with her first husband,
