    Offspring
    • In 1757 a Nathaniel was baptised in West Teignmouth, the entry in the PR showing he was the son of Thomas and Patience, but there seems to have been no such couple. I have not yet seen the BT entry (where corrections are sometimes found) - at the time of writing this (6 May 2017) images of most Devon BTs are on FamilySearch, but not yet all those for the parish of West Teignmouth.
I think Nathaniel must have been the son of Thomas and Martha or of this couple, Timothy and Patience. Both had a gap between there other known children (previous baptised 1753, next 1759). However, the evidence seems more strongly weighted towards Nathaniel being the son of Thomas and Martha (see full argument for this on Nathaniel's page)

It is clear that it was this William who married Johanna Bennett, as he was still living when his sister Elizabeth wrote her will in 1827, and she named him and also named several of his children.
